On Tuesday 6th October2026 , we will be supporting Beacon Centre for the Blind by holding a Bright Clothes Day to raise awareness of visual impairment.

Children and staff are invited to come to school wearing their brightest clothes (non uniform). Families are welcome to make a donation to Beacon Centre for the Blind, although this is completely optional. The main purpose is to raise awareness and any donations are a bonus!

Donations can be made via the QR code on the attached flyer, or children may bring a small cash donation into school if they wish; these will be collected by class teachers on the day.

Throughout the day, all children will also take part in special assemblies delivered by representatives from Beacon Centre for the Blind and the Visual Impairment Team, helping them to learn more about visual impairment and how we can support those living with sight loss.

For any children who usually come to school wearing their PE kit on a Tuesday, they should still do this as they will still be taking part in PE but they may bring something bright to change into should they wish to do so or could simply wear a bright hairband/bobble with their PE kit or bring with them a bright sweatshirt/jumper (no hoods) to put on over their PE kit for outside time/during the assembly.
